OUR SCOTLAND

Night falls,blue fades from the sky
the sun that warmed the day is quietly saying goodbye.
In vibrant red she decends neath the mountainside,
leaving fields of the sweetest heather, peaceful in eventide
The gallant piper plays giving thanks for this night,
remembering brave soldiers, now gone from our sight.
Our children sleep in peace with hopes for a bright tomorrow,
majestic mountains stand guard protecting them from sorrow.
Reflected in the swirl of life, seas and stars governed by God.
Scotland in all her spleandour awaits a new dawn,
dressed in glory greens, alive in her crystal streams she bides breathing easy,
now in the quiet of night the piper by his fireside stays.crackling flames his only company,
Scotland for his honour will grow stonger and serene,
many will leave her to follow a dream, only to find in their flight, Home.....
is Scotland,giving life by day ,
holding us in peace by night.........

Though I said goodbye,
And my feet fall, still unsure,
On this strange and distant land I stumble on,
But never gone from your majesctic hills of heather
Like waves of wind from and angry sea
Sounds blending with the swirl
Of the pipers melody so sad and so forlorne
Reaching across oceans miles and memories
Of the land where I was born
Like a haunting symphony
Whispering through the chambers of my lonley soul
Deep within this place I dewll never whole
But fragmented and scattered over a lifetime
In a world I feel incomplete must I take only space
Till these wayward feet stand strong
And carry me back
To where I will be as one with the earth,stars and sky
My life began and then I ran blind unaware my heart stayed there
One day I shall walk the bridge I never should have crossed
And unafraid I will sail the sea tossed with tears
And allow the tears I found be drowned
Neath the waves that take me home.
