Mr Rodger

The people of Port Glasgow are often referred to as "warm and friendly" and I think this is very true. Ask someone who left along time ago and they will tell you that they still call it home.

The people section of the site has been updated with much more detail and photographs where possible in the 2007 update - I hope you find something of interest.

The first one added was that of Mr Bonar.
His portrait now covers three generations of men who lived and worked in Port Glasgow.

After adding the first of the portraits I was sent quite a bit of mail. Some remembering a tale or two, others faces and names. Two people even commented how strange it was to see their grandfathers faces on the Internet!

The Portraits
In this section you will find details of the people are from the town or who left their mark on the Port' in one way or another.
I would love to add some more people to this section (they don't have to be dead or famous) so if you can think on anyone who deserves to be either remembered or acknowledged then please get in touch!
