The Harbours

Dated around 1860's this is the Mid Quay where the fish market was situated.

Town Buildings and Harbour

 The East Harbour or Long Quay as it was often know was taken over by the Admiralty during the second world war and renamed "HMS Monck" It was used for repairing and overhauling depot for small landing craft.
Many of the Wrens and officers attached to HMS Monck were billeted in the former Carnagie Park orphanage.
