This is a family photograph showing my aunt and uncle in the back stair area in George Street.
The details taken from the back of the photo did not give me a date but let me know that at the time they lived in 27C George Street and the picture was a copy made by Lee's , 4b Abbotsford Place, Glasgow.

Family Snaps

Outside Fergusons with the kids! You can see the old yard in the background.
My grandfather was a riveter and as he has the kids with him it is possible that they were going to see a boat launched, some things are still the same then!

This photograph of the men has me puzzeld! They are all in working clothes but Sparkle and Thrill? Just where are they and what is going on......I might never know!

The "back stairs" must have been a popular place! look at all the women standing watching while this one was taken.............

The next three were all taken at the Coronation Park.
The building behind them in the group shot is the long shed that run behind the old concertina building.

Not wanting to leave the girls out! My grandmother worked as well, in the mill. This is her with a group of the girls...can anyone name any of the people in this shot?

In View Of The Clyde

Another family photograph. The gentleman is my great grandfather and he is tending his allotment which was one of many at the top of Barrs Brae. What I like about it is all the cranes in the background!

The view must have been wonderful from up there, I bet many spent their time looking out across the river and not doing the weeding that took them up there in the first place!
